The New Jersey Nursery and Landscape Association Trade Show concludes another successful show and conference!

Bordentown, NJ — The NJNLA Trade Show and Conference was held January 13 - 14, 2010 at the Garden State Convention Center in Somerset.This year, nearly 100 companies exhibited in over 120 booths and had 1200 registrants including exhibitors.  NJNLA Trade Show Chairman Keith MacIndoe said, "This year the tradeshow was well received by exhibitors and attendees. Even with the difficult economy, green industry members realize the importance of getting out and meeting with the up and comers with regards to purchasing and selling. The educational part of the event was exceptional with over 500 people listening to multiple speakers from plant industry members to business consultant to Trenton lobbyists. A BIG thank you goes out to our sponsors of the cocktail reception held on the first evening of the event Jack Daniels, Hionis Greenhouses, National Seed, Pleasant Run Nursery, Dick Greenfield Isuzu Dodge, and Johnson Farms.”  
The 2011 NJNLA Trade Show and Conference will be held January 12 - 13, 2011 at the Garden State Convention Center in Somerset.

2010 Perennial Plant of the Year Announced as Baptisia australis

Baptisia australis is the Perennial Plant Association’s 2010 Perennial Plant of the Year™. Baptisia, pronounced bap-TEEZ-ee-uh aw-STRAH-lis, carries the common names blue false indigo, wild indigo, and baptisia. Less commonly occurring names are indigo weed, rattleweed, and rattlebrush. This Eastern United States native is member of the Fabaceae family (formerly Leguminosae). The name of the genus, Baptisia, is derived from the Ancient Greek word, bapto, meaning to dip (dye) or immerse, while the specific epithet, australis, is Latin for southern.
